The Old Man and the Wolf

An old man and his wife had a boy and girl and a cock, a chicken, sheep and a stallion.
A hungry wolf ran up to the hut and howled: “Old man, which lives in a clay hut, feed me your wife, the girl and the boy, the rooster and chicken, the sheep and the stallion and the girl in earrings.”
With great sorrow the old man gave the wolf a cock and a chicken to eat.
The next day the wolf returned and howled once more: “Old man, which lives in a clay hut, feed me your wife, the girl and the boy, the sheep and the stallion and the girl in earrings.”
Feeling sorry for the little lambs the old man gave the wolf his sheep.
On the third day the wolf came again and howled: “Old man, which lives in a clay hut, feed me your wife, the girl and the boy, and the stallion and the girl in earrings.
The old man gave the wolf his stallion.
The next day the wolf came and howled: “Old man, which lives in a clay hut, feed me your wife, the girl and the boy, the boy in boots, and the girl in earrings.”
The old man nearly had to give his children to the wolf but feeling especially bad about it he instead took a poker and began to beat the wolf until the beasts belly burst open and the stallion jumped out, followed by the five sheep and lambs and the cock with the chicken.
