Hooking a Man
There were once three sisters who decided that they wanted to get married so they went out to the lake to go fishing. While out on the lake they cast out their hooks and soon the eldest sister felt a tug on her line, so she pulled and pulled until at last she pulled up a man. The man was big and strong and was a capable enough hunter so the two of them got married.
The next day the next two sisters went out fishing again and soon the elder of the two (the middle sister) felt a tug on her line. She struggled and struggled for a long time until at last she pulled up a man who was strong and an even better hunter than the the first man had been so the two of them were soon married.
The next day the youngest sister went out to go fishing and she hadn't been there long when she felt a tug on the line, and after struggling for some time she managed to pull an old man ashore. The youngest sister was disgusted at having pulled up such an old man so she pushed him back into the lake and ran home.
When she got home she told her sisters and brothers in law what had happened and her brothers in law told her that the man she'd thrown back was the greatest hunter in the lake but she didn't care because he was so old.
The next day the youngest sister went out again to go fishing but once more she pulled up the old man and was even more disgusted at the thought of marrying him than she had been the first time she'd pulled him up so she threw him back into the water as before.
Her sisters and brothers in law were sad that she had done so for now she would be without someone to hunt for her, and as they all turned into ducks and lived happily together in the lake the youngest sister was stuck alone on the shore with no one to hunt for her.
