Tsuchigumo (spiders)
Tsuchigumo are giant spiders which dwell in caves but come out in human form to claim victims.
One of the more dangerous Yokai. In one story a tsuchigumo turned into
a beautiful woman who lead an army of yokai. The tsuchigumo in this
tale is capable of creating massive illusions to fool her enemies.
Eventually the tsuchigumo is killed but she is still able to vomit
forth hundreds of large spiders the size of cats.
In other stories tsuchigumo tries to poison people, spit webs, attack priests in abandoned temples and more.
